Opticomm charges a New Development Fee of $300 in certain locations where the physical equipment has already been installed, but not yet activated. This fee is charged when the first Opticomm circuit is activated at a premise. In new developments, this fee is not applicable as the installation is arranged directly through Opticomm and billed directly by Opticomm to the resident. If you are unsure if whether a New Development Fee applies to you, please contact our support staff.

Yes, in most cases we can port your existing telephone number over to the Fibre broadband.

To be sure you keep your phone number, specify that you’d like to keep your existing telephone number when you sign up online.

Actual throughput speeds may be slower and could vary due to various factors including customer cabling and equipment, download source, and quality and distance of in-building copper. Devices connected by Wi-Fi may experience slower speeds than those connected by Ethernet cable.

Yes, you can simply subscribe to our AlphaPhone (VoIP) service when ordering the Fibre service. You can also port an existing phone number to your new VoIP service.

Porting a phone number is free of charge. Once your broadband service is activated your telephone number may take up to 10 to 15 days to transfer across, depending on your current provider. During the last day of this process prior to porting completion, you may not be able to receive incoming calls or make outgoing calls for a short period of time until the port is completed.

Yes. Customers can bring their own modem as long as they can set it up themselves. We are only able to provide basic guidance on how to set up modems not provided by Green Tree Frog.
